Alexandra and Mark – Courtyard Marriott, Boston

When done well, Winter Weddings in Boston can be incredibly elegant.  And since Alexandra works in the business, she knows how to do it!  Alexandra and Mark’s decor reflected the coziness of your favorite winter wrap and the sparkle of fresh snow without overdoing the theme.  It was so fun to photograph!  We started the day getting ready at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Boston.  The wedding party braved the winter weather for a first look and formal wedding photos at the Boston Public Garden.  They were total troopers!  Then we all headed back to the elegant Boston hotel for a ceremony and gorgeous celebration.  Below, are some of my favorite images from the wedding day.

Alexandra and her wedding party had a ball getting ready for the big day.  Alexandra chose to skip the chilly matching silk robes and instead opted for cozy flannel shirts.  Perfect for February!  Her eyes sparkled as she put her dress on.  I’m in love with all the detail in her dress!  As has become the tradition, Alexandra and Mark traded cards prior to the first look.  Mark had too many words for the love of his life and needed a full page letter to say how he felt.  It made Alexandra cry.

The light was fabulous getting ready.  I had so much fun with the makeup artist’s beauty light!

The first look was just lovely.  Alexandra kept herself warm with a gorgeous, white, fur trimmed cape.  She also helped the bridesmaids out with amazing fur wraps.  Even in the middle of winter, the Boston Public Garden is a beautiful place.

Alexandra and Mark were married by a close friend in front of a large, beautiful fireplace.

The ballroom at the Marriott is lovely with it’s intricate, high ceiling and crystal chandeliers.  Alexandra enhanced the detail with up-lighting.  The white and pale, pink flowers were perfect for a winter wedding.  She added a touch of modern flair with huge marquee lights.
