Mazel Tov Sabrina!

This was a blast from the past for me!  When I was contacted by mom Nancy to do Sabrina’s Bat Mitzvah at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, I was thrilled.  I had actually planned sister Marielle’s Bat Mitzvah at Seaport Hotel years back and they were one of my favorite families to work with!  It was so special seeing the smart, beautiful woman Marielle has become and seeing Sabrina truly come into her own.  Thank you so much for including me!  I will be looking forward to the weddings…far into the...

An Intimate and Special Affair

Kiri & Dave were so excited to be married, but they weren’t excited at the prospect of a big wedding where they were the center of attention all night.  So off to City Hall it was!  Kiri & Dave were married in front of close family and friends at Cambridge City Hall. The group continued the celebration at Maggiano’s for lunch.  But not before I stole some time alone with them in the Public Garden.  The park was even more green and colorful set against the light fog of the day.  It was so...

Brand New

When long time family friend and past client Jessica trusted her newborn baby boy with me and my photography skills, I was honored.  At three weeks old, Andrew is truly new to this world.  And he’s just perfect!  We had a lovely session tiptoeing around the sleeping Andrew.  These are just a few of my...

City Girl…Country Boy

City Girl…Country Boy

Candida & Tim are from two very different backgrounds.  They are a great example of how yin and yang can work in a relationship.  Tim is a quite, understated Southern Gentleman (yes, he called me ma’am the entire session) and Candi is a sassy, strong City Girl.  They wanted an engagement photography session that reflected their backgrounds.  So on Tim’s far too short leave from the Military, we spent two days together shooting.  Our first day was spent playing on a farm and the second day running around downtown Boston....

Brienne & Mike

Brienne and Mike were High School sweethearts and after a decade, decided to make their relationship official.  Their history made for one of the easiest and most fun weddings I’ve ever shot.  Almost everyone in their wedding had known each other for over a decade.  Their wedding at Harrington Farm was a party from the word go!  Brie and Mike are also thespians and were very much into the music on their wedding day.  That could mean only one thing.  They hired Boston’s best band, Kahootz (and no, I’m not biased)....

On your mark…get set…get married!

Spring has sprung.  And to photographers all over Boston, that means one thing…Wedding Season!  I can’t think of a better way to kick off the season than spending it with Rob & Marie.  Rob and Marie were married in front of an intimate group of special friends in the Boston Public Garden.  But they have taken the beginning of their lives together to a new level.  Rob and Marie will go from the starting line of their marriage to the starting line of the Boston Marathon.  They will run the race together as husband and wife!...

I Love my Job!

I Love my Job!

There are so many things about my job that I love.  One of the biggest, is the variety it offers me.  They say variety is the spice of life.  If that’s true, my life is straight out of a Mexican restaurant!  In a 48 hour period, I was able to participate in three jobs completely different from one and other.  Each job made the creative juices flow and allowed me to be completely fresh for the next.  The first day started with a studio session with Khalil Abdul-Malik.  Khalil is a very talented musician and we were creating sleek...

Gregory Porter

You may remember my New Year’s Resolution blog post not so long ago.  In it, I described a great trip to New York City with my beloved husband.  While I dragged him to a Broadway Musical (he always likes them in the end), his choice for entertainment was Smoke Jazz Supper Club.  That night, I was introduced to Gregory Porter and have been listening to his music ever since.  This month, Mr. Porter performed at the Regatta Bar at the Charles Hotel and I was given the opportunity to photograph his performance!  I have to admit, it was...

Smithsoneon & The Jazz Thugs

This week, I was grateful for the opportunity to photograph some very talented  people in a truly unique and challenging space.  In a small, independently owned, Asian American book store,  Smithsoneon & the Jazz Thugs performed by the light of two small, red paper lanterns.  East Meets West Bookstore is managed by the Boston Progress Arts Collective.  It houses the largest selection of independent Asian American products on the East Coast, including books, DVDs, hip hop, rock, and spoken word CDs and vinyl, chapbooks, gear and...
