Melissa and Chris – Hyatt Goat Island, Newport, Rhode Island

Melissa and Chris’ wedding hashtag was #whenlifegivesyoulennons.  When we saw that Hurricane Matthew was going to make his mark on their wedding day, I was determined to turn #lennons into #lennonaide!  And thankfully, Melissa and Chris were totally game.  They were amazing sports!  When I entered Melissa’s room that day, I had no idea what to expect.  I knew getting photos against the amazing ocean view was the main reason she booked the Hyatt on Goat Island.  I was thrilled to see Melissa was in fabulous spirits and absolutely willing to brave the wind and the rain with me.  Thankfully, the Hyatt has a lovely pavilion on the water.  It just meant making our way out there.  Not an easy feat.  We wrapped Melissa in a hotel bathrobe and protected her with a huge umbrella.  Melissa made her way out with a giant smile on her face the entire time!  The backdrop was moody and gorgeous for their first look.  It was contrasted brilliantly by their bright smiles.  I was so thankful we had the chance to be out there.  After the first look, we headed inside.  My favorite images are probably the ones of Melissa and Chis huddled under […]

Edi and Matthew – Colonnade Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts

Edi and Matthew had a perfect fall wedding in Boston!  We started the day with Edi getting ready at the Colonnade Hotel.  We made our way to the Boston Public Garden for a lovely first look.  The garden was just starting to show fall colors and I was so happy we able to take advantage of that!  After formal photos in the garden, we headed back to the hotel for Edi and Matthew’s ketubah ceremony.  This is when the bride and groom sign the traditional Jewish marriage contract.  It was such a special moment!  After the ceremony, guests headed up to the roof of the hotel for the cocktail hour amid the sparkling lights of the Boston skyline.  Then, back to the ballroom to celebrate.  Edi chose a lovely muted fall palette for her flowers complimented with pink up-lighting.  It was so elegant!  Take a look at some of my favorite images from the day. Edi had a blast getting ready with her bridesmaids.  They were all very close and it showed!  We had a great moment when they all battled to choose what set of earrings Edi should wear.  As it should be, mom won the battle. It was […]

Jenna and Slava – Granite Links, Quincy, Massachusetts

When Jenna contacted me to shoot her wedding day, I knew to expect a fabulous party based on her cousin Lisa’s gorgeous wedding!  Jenna and Slava’s wedding day certainly didn’t disappoint!  We started at the Marriott in Quincy to get ready.  I was immediately struck by Jenna’s unique and absolutely breathtaking wedding gown.  The floral detail gave the gown a romantic flair and the neckline was perfect for Jenna.  After preparations were complete, we headed to Granite Links Golf Course in Quincy for the couple’s first look and wedding celebration.  The first look was in a super cool location on the property called the ruins.  The ceremony was held in the pavilion with a gorgeous view of the golf course and the Boston skyline beyond that.  Then guests headed into the ballroom for the celebration.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Check out the gorgeous detail on Jenna’s wedding gown.  And I love that she chose a different bouquet for each bridesmaid.  It was a great look. The first look in the ruins made for a perfectly private experience.  It’s such an interesting spot to shoot!  After the first look, we got to head back to […]

Rachael and Joe – Seaport Hotel, Boston

Rachael and Joe’s wedding felt like shooting with family.  Not only was I at my old stomping grounds of Seaport Hotel, but Rachael is the niece of my former boss at Seaport!  And did I mention I shot Rachael’s cousin Alex’s wedding last year?  I was in a room filled with people I adore!  Rachael and Joe are a fabulous couple.  They have a gorgeous daughter, Penelope who was the perfect flower girl that day.  We started out getting ready at Seaport.  Rachael chose to dress her maids in champagne colored dresses in all different styles.  It was a gorgeous look!  The wedding party hopped on a trolley to the ceremony at Saint Brendan’s Church in Dorchester.  I know how everyone loves the look on the groom’s face when he first sees her.  And it is a very special moment.  But I’m becoming more and more fond of the look they share together when she reaches the top of the aisle.  It gave me goosebumps!  We headed back to the Seaport District for formal photos and lost all our light in typical Boston traffic.  It turned out to be a blessing.  Seaport shines at night!  And I love the images […]

Niccole and Rob – Willowdale Estate, Topsfield, Massachusetts

When I met with Niccole and Rob to discuss their wedding photography, they described their decor as a “flower explosion.”  They weren’t kidding!  With the help of the amazing Monique Jeffrey at Willowdale Estate (I can’t thank her enough for giving them my name!), the couple transformed the Willowdale Estate with more flowers than I’d ever seen at a wedding.  It was absolutely stunning.  Niccole and Rob knew exactly what they were after for photography as well.  They didn’t want to miss a moment.  Myself and two other fabulous photographers (along with three videographers and a drone from Next Level Films) spent eleven hours covering their entire day.  And while the decor was spectacular to shoot, the love affair between Niccole and Rob was even more beautiful.  Rob’s seemingly “tough guy” exterior totally melted when he spoke the most passionate vows he wrote personally for Niccole.  And Niccole almost broke down when they shared a private and emotional “first touch” in the upstairs of Willowdale Estate.  I’m so excited to share some of my favorite images from the day.   Getting ready at Willowdale was a blast.  Rob brought his barber (complete with barber chair) in for a close shave […]

Amanda and Adam – Royal Sonesta, Cambridge, Massachusetts

It was fitting that Amanda and Adam started their marriage in the same place they started their courtship.  The couple met at BU Law school and had their wedding ceremony in Boston University’s Marsh Chapel.  It added such a special feel to the day!  We started the day getting ready at the Royal Sonesta.  The weather was perfect for a late Summer wedding.  Se we were able to sneak out for some wedding party photos in a pretty, shaded area along the Charles River.  After the beautiful ceremony, the celebration continued at the Sonesta.  The reception included a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony.  To show their respect and gratitude to their older relatives, Amanda and Adam presented special cups of tea.  The couple also received gifts from their loved ones.  It truly is a beautiful tradition!  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.   I just loved Amanda’s sweet smile getting ready.  It showed just how excited she was to marry Adam.  Adam, on the other hand, absolutely showed his serious side. I will never forget Adam’s reaction when Amanda walked down the aisle.  He started out being awestruck and then got totally emotional.  It was just gorgeous! […]

Krista and Steven – Hotel Commonwealth, Boston, Massachusetts

Krista and Steven made it very clear they wanted their wedding to be a fun and easy day and their images should capture those fun and easy moments.  Nothing too formal for these two.  But let’s not confuse formality with elegance!  Working with event planner, Amy Doherty the couple ensured their wedding day reflected both their fun and easy personalities as well as their swanky and elegant style.  We started getting ready in Krista’s mom’s gorgeous downtown Boston loft.  I had some great light and a fantastic contemporary backdrop to work with.  We then headed over to Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square for the ceremony and reception.  Kenmore Square is a fabulous spot for some city photos.  From the Kenmore T Stop (yup, we went there!), to Fenway Park and the famous Citgo Sign, we used it all!  Photos didn’t take too long though.  We needed plenty of time for dancing.  Check out some of the fabulous moves courtesy of Steven’s siblings!  Here are some of my favorite images from the day. When I arrived at Krista’s mom’s flat, the energy and excitement were palpable.  Krista couldn’t keep the smile off her face! Krista went through the full range of […]

Mollie and Dan – Brae Burn Country Club, Newton, Massachusetts

Mollie and Dan’s wedding day was just gorgeous!  It was a perfect summer day for them.  We started getting ready right at Brae Burn Country Club which is where the ceremony and celebration took place.  The property has a huge, gorgeous tree just steps from the porch where their first look and ceremony were.  It was a beautiful spot for all our formals.  And to my glee, it was completely transformed in the evening for the perfect night shot.  Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the outside deck and moved into the lovely ballroom made even more gorgeous by the styling of my good friends at Jeri Solomon Floral Design.  Take a look at some of my favorite images from the day.   I absolutely love the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses!  They are a perfect option for an elegant, summer wedding. Check out that amazing, big tree!  And I’m obsessed with their flowers.  Thanks Jeri! Mollie got a little emotional during the ceremony and I think it surprised her.  It made for some great moments. Dan was the big dancer in the couple.  He was a blast on the dance floor! Don’t forget to check out the full slide show! […]

Amanda and Robert – Topsfield Commons, Topsfield, Massachusetts

Amanda and Robbie have a great story!  They were best friends in high school and fell in love through that friendship.  One can tell they’ve been close for a very long time by how comfortable they are with one and other.  Amanda is also super close with her family.  She made a point to tell me how important images of her family were to her.  She wanted to share her wedding day with her family…quite literally.  Both her sister and her parents share the same wedding date of August 13.  I find that so romantic!  Amanda and Robbie shared their first look on the swanky first floor of the Topsfield Commons where they had their wedding ceremony and celebration.  We didn’t have to go far for formals as the grounds were quite lovely.  Here are a few of my favorite images from the day… Amanda got ready right on site.  She had a rather large wedding party and the room was a bit tight.  But the ladies loved being a part of getting her ready! It was a gorgeous day!  One of the first days that wasn’t crazy hot and our outdoor shooting was just a joy. Amanda and Robbie […]

René and Steve – Wayside Inn, Sudbury, Massachusetts

This was such a great wedding!  I just love René and Steve and was so excited to work with them.  They had a lovely wedding (with the help of wedding planner extraordinaire Christina Gillon) at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA.  It’s a special spot to the couple as Steve is originally from Sudbury.  René totally embraced that and their wedding took on a Historic New England theme.  The couple got ready in the two original rooms at the inn and had a beautiful first look in the garden.  All the formals were taken right on the gorgeous property (how could you not) and in the open field across the street.  As guests walked from the Wayside to the Martha Mary Chapel, René awaited her horse-drawn carriage.  The ceremony was fantastic.  The couple giggled all the way through!  As guests exited the ceremony, they were greeted by a fife and drum corps to escort them back to the inn.  It was a great day and I’m so happy to share some of my favorite images from the day. René was so calm and happy getting ready.  Check out that fabulous smile! René struggled with her “something blue” tradition.  She finally […]
