Laurie and Josh’s Westin Copley Boston Wedding

When Laurie started planning her wedding, she wanted it smack dab in our beautiful city of Boston. And she got her wish! With the Westin Copley as our home, we are able to sneak over to the Public Garden and the Boston Public Library for photos. It couldn’t have been a more lovely day for it. Both Laurie and Josh got ready at the Westin, so I was able to pop into both rooms while they were preparing for the big day. I loved watching Josh (to be more accurate, one of Josh’s groomsmen) tying a real bow tie. After an intimate and lovely first look we were driven to the Public Garden for wedding party and bridal portraits. Then, it was back to the hotel in time for their Ketubah signing. The ceremony was held in the ballroom with the gorgeous city view as their backdrop. The chuppah was adorned in beautiful muted pink and white flowers. When guests returned to the ballroom after the cocktail hour, the room was totally transformed with the city view twinkling and pink up-lighting filling the ballroom. What a transformation! Vicky + Zhihuai’s Elegant Four Season’s Wedding

Vicky and Zhihuai’s wedding was a lovely mix of tradition and modern style. Vicky started the day in lovely white gown made for a princess and finished the evening in a stunning red evening dress true to tradition. And of course, the property they chose to be married at certainly mirrors that same style. I just love shooting at the Four Seasons Boston. Not only is the property stunning. There are so many gorgeous options available for outdoor shooting as well. We had a great time wandering the city with the wedding party!

Spring Wedding Fever!

I’m cold. No, I’m really cold! But I know Spring is just around the corner. And while I dream of the April showers bringing May flowers, I get excited for my 2014 Spring Weddings! Spring weddings in New England are truly special. Spring in Boston is colorful, fragrant and romantic. And Spring weddings in Boston are the same! As I look forward to Spring in Boston, I think back to some of my favorite Spring wedding photos.

Melissa + Pete’s UMASS Club Wedding

When I met with Melissa + Pete, they stressed the importance of including their loved ones in their wedding celebration. Well, that was pretty easy considering Melissa + Pete’s friends and family are so talented! We enjoyed some exquisite musical performances during the ceremony. But one other participant stole the show. Check out their beloved dog Baily in that tux! The celebration was at the fabulous UMASS Club which has a lovely view of Boston’s city skyline!

Meredith & Ryan’s Spring Wedding at the Taj

The day with Meredith and Ryan was full of fun! And some surprises! We started getting ready at the Taj and I was so touched by the number of heirlooms Meredith and Ryan were able to incorporate into their attire. They had special accessories passed down from grandparents and great grandparents that included Meredith’s broach & purse and Ryan’s cufflinks and watch. What a lovely way to be reminded of your history as you look forward to your new future as husband and wife. We had a perfect time in the Public Garden (as crowded as it was!) and were able to return to the city streets after sunset. I was thrilled to hear Meredith and Ryan were not afraid to play in traffic with me! And in the middle of that traffic, we ran into some friendly and gracious Boston Fire Fighters who let us borrow their truck for some extra special images. Then it was time to whisk the two of them back to the Taj Rooftop Ballroom to dance the night away with one of my favorite bands, K2. It was such a blast!

Amy & Keith’s One Year Anniversary

Amy and Keith have been married one year. And as their lives are about to take them across the country, they wanted to mark this special time in their lives living inBoston. I’m so glad they did! We spent an afternoon finding some spots they knew would remind them of their beloved Boston. Amy and Keith expressed their wonderful relationship and truly singular personalities in each photo. As you’ll see, one of their hobbies is acrobatics! It was so much fun to photograph them climb, stretch and pop into handstands! I’m sad to see Amy & Keith leave our fair city, but I’m am thrilled for them and their new adventure!

Jennifer & Nader’s Classic Rooftop Wedding

I liked Jennifer & Nader as soon as I met them! They were absolute naturals in front of the camera during their engagement shoot and they were even more easy and fun at the wedding. Jennifer and Nader really wanted to celebrate their beloved Boston on their wedding day. I started with Jennifer getting ready at the Taj in Boston which is such a classic looking location. Perfect for my classic beauty of a bride! We headed to the ceremony in Medford where the sun streamed into the church’s stained glass windows and made everything dreamy. Wedding party photos were at the Public Garden for the perfect Boston backdrop. And finally, we all headed back to the Taj where the rooftop ballroom gave us a truly singular view of the city. It was the perfect location to celebrate their marriage!

Jocelyn & Nick’s Boston Engagement Session

Remember when you didn’t need eight layers to leave the house? We had the perfect weather for this Fall Engagement Session! Sigh. When thinking about an engagement session, I always tell my clients to choose a spot that is special for them. Find a location that will speak to their relationship and personalities. Jocelyn and Nick love the city! And we had a blast wandering around. We started with a drink at the bar in the Omni Parker Hotel. The Omni Parker Hotel also happens to be the location of their wedding reception, so it was extra special. The large windows and dark wood were perfect for a shoot. It was cozy, comfortable and romantic! We finished by taking a walk in the Public Garden. Jocelyn & Nick are true naturals in front of the camera. But I think it also helped that they were in an environment they loved.

An Intimate and Special Affair

Kiri & Dave were so excited to be married, but they weren’t excited at the prospect of a big wedding where they were the center of attention all night. So off to City Hall it was! Kiri & Dave were married in front of close family and friends at Cambridge City Hall. The group continued the celebration at Maggiano’s for lunch. But not before I stole some time alone with them in the Public Garden. The park was even more green and colorful set against the light fog of the day. It was so romantic!
