Best of 2012!

What a year it has been!  As I reflect on the past year, I see how lucky I’ve been to have worked with such lovely and unique people.  My job has taken me to beautiful locations and has introduced me to some truly wonderful people.  I’ve had such a difficult time choosing my favorite images of 2012…which you’ll see…as there are many!  I’ve had the opportunity to witness and capture some really special and one of a kind moments.  I’m so pleased to be able to share some of my favorites.   The engagement session can be an important part of my job.  And certainly one of the most fun!  It’s my first opportunity to really spend some time with my clients.  I learn about their relationships, personalities and styles.  And my clients learn what it’s like to be photographed.  I always ask my clients to choose a location that is special to them and speaks to their relationship.  So I find myself in some interesting spots from local bars and city streets to hiking trails and farms.  Here are some of my favorite from this year…     The wedding day is a wild and exciting day.  By far, […]

Melissa & Ed’s Winter Wedding at the Topsfield Commons

I can’t think of a better way to finish this year’s wedding posts!  I just love the Forchielli family!  They’re my kind of family.  They’re incredibly close, but are happy to welcome anyone into their good time.  And when they have a party, they pull no punches!  The day started with a beautiful, semi-private sneak peek (you’ll see Melissa’s mom couldn’t help but peek out the window at the Commons) followed by some beautiful outdoor (and maybe a little chilly!) photos.  The backdrop of The Topsfield Commons is perfect for a winter wedding!  Melissa & Ed’s ceremony incorporated so many family members, including Melissa’s uncle as officiant.  And the party was amazing!  Specialty drinks, festive intermezzo, fabulous candy station, passed french fries, and so much more!  They even hired a professional painter to capture the scene.  Way to go Melissa & Ed!  I loved every second of photographing your wedding!

Kristen & Gregg’s Wedding at Granite Links

Kristen and Gregg are a fun and easy couple.  No drama, no fuss, just fun!  To that end, the couple started the reception letting their guests know it was a party!  They gave all their guests maracas and were introduced into the Granite Links ballroom to Harry Belefante’s Jump in the Line.  As they entered the room, Kristen and Gregg pulled all of their guests on the dance floor with them.  It was such a fun moment!  Kristen and Gregg’s friends and family proved to be just as fun dancing the night away with the band Boston Common.  Check out some of their photo booth pics!  Thanks for the great night Kristen & Gregg!

Erica & Eric’s Fall Wedding

Erica and Eric are a lot of fun and I really enjoyed their wedding day.  It was a beautiful fall day and we were able to take advantage of some lovely foliage at Cedar Grove Cemetery (yes, you heard me!).  Who knew we’d find such perfect backdrops in a cemetery!  It goes to show you, never say never.  I also love seeing how my clients use special touches to personalize their wedding.  Erica added a beautiful touch to her bouquet.  She was able to keep the history of her parent’s and grandparent’s marriages with her all evening by sewing her mother’s and grandmother’s wedding bands into her bouquet.  It was lovely!

Amy & Kevin’s Meaningful Wedding Day

I was so impressed by the way Amy and Kevin personalized their wedding day.  Everywhere you looked, there were little pieces of their personalities and styles.  They especially put some special thought into their ceremony which can be a part of the day that is sadly, often overlooked.  First, they had a close friend marry them which right away ensured their ceremony would be one of a kind.  Since there was not a priest there to bless the rings, Amy and Kevin had the rings passed among their immediate family so they could “bless” them with special hopes and wishes for the couple.  My favorite touch was the wine box they incorporated.  Amy and Kevin each wrote letters the morning of the wedding to describe what they were feeling that day.  During the ceremony, they had a special wine placed in a wooden box.  They included the letters in the box and nailed the box shut.  The box is to be opened at a special anniversary.  What a wonderful way to add meaning to such an important day!  I hope these photos properly catch all those moments!

Heidi & Joe’s Elegant Four Seasons Wedding

I can’t begin to tell you how fond I am of Heidi and Joe!  I’ve been looking forward to their wedding ever since their engagement shoot.  And it did not disappoint!  First, it doesn’t get more elegant than the Four Seasons Hotel.  They even make comfort food elegant.  Check out the fabulous munchies served during the cocktail hour.  The staff and setting were just a joy.  And I was surrounded all day by the most fun and talented people!  Honey from Lotus Designs decorated the ballrooms impeccably.  I spent the entire day with Jeremy from Folster Video and he was a great date (it didn’t hurt that we’re both incurable geeks)!  And we were entertained by the one and only Hip Pocket Orchestra.  But most importantly, Heidi and Joe are the cutest couple!  They are best friends and the only thing they love more than each other is their adorable dog who made a special appearance that day.  Check out his bow tie!  Love it!!!
