Josephine’s Photos at Four Months

Four months old is such a great age for baby photos. Babies are just starting to hold their heads up and their personalities are starting to shine. Josephine is a beautiful baby! And she was the perfect model. There are some great photos of Josephine laying on her belly proudly holding her head and hands up for the crowd. And she was so curious! There is a whole series of photos of Josephine very seriously studying her feet. We had three generations in the studio as Josephine’s mom brought her mom for some help. And I can see where Josephine gets her easy and happy personality. It was a lovely day in the Photography by Nikki Cole studios. Ladies, please come back any time!

Ines & Craig’s DIY Wedding at Butternut Farms

Ines and Craig are such a lovely couple! Our initial meeting was so easy and fun. I was thrilled to be chosen to photograph their wedding. Their wedding day was just as easy and fun. Ines filled the day with special touches by hand making all of the decor. That includes the beautiful broach bouquets you’ll see in the slide show! Craig also added his special touch by planning the honeymoon. He kept the location of their trip a secret until the wedding day. Throughout the reception, the DJ would play special songs to give Ines hints to where they were going. Finally, the location was revealed. You won’t be able to miss the expression on Ines’ face when she found out they were headed to Hawaii! The surprise gave Ines all the energy she needed to dance the night away. Ines’ family is Portuguese and the Portuguese music and traditional dancing was a blast. Ines and Craig, I hope you two are watching this show from under a palm tree! Congratulations!

Kristen & Ryan’s Cape Cod Wedding

Kristen & Ryan were so much fun to work with! They were an easy and happy couple who were good sports about photography (even though Ryan like to PRETEND he didn’t enjoy getting his photo taken…we’re totally BFF’s now!). And they had to be good sports. It just happened to be the windiest day of the season! But that didn’t stop us from heading to Craigville Beach where they grew up spending summers, and taking some beautiful images of the two of them. After some more wind blown wedding party photos, Kristen and Ryan had a beautiful ceremony at Saint Andrews by the Sea where we had another interesting photo situation. Photography is not allowed at all inside the chapel. So all the images you see of this ceremony were taken outside the chapel through a door they were kind enough to leave open! That ended our photo madness. We were off to celebrate at the Hyannisport Club. The reception was beautifully decorated with subtle seaside touches (I love their place card table!). Stefani & Ian’s Seaside Wedding

When I first met Stefani, she was a bridesmaid in another wedding I was photographing. I’m always so honored when a bride wants to book me after experiencing my photography first hand! I’ve been looking forward to Stefani & Ian’s wedding all year, and it didn’t disappoint! Their ceremony and reception were held at a lovely seaside property in Connecticut. The day was perfect and the couple were stunning and happy. We were blessed with the most breathtaking sky for sunset photos. But one detail made the day perfect. Stefani & Ian’s precious baby boy Weston was surely the star of the show. They just glowed every time he was near. This beautiful little family can certainly look forward to a lifetime of happiness!

Misty & Derek’s Labor Day Wedding at Charter Oak Country Club

Misty and Derek are college sweethearts. And while graduating school and starting new careers, they planned the most lovely wedding! Luckily, they had lots of help from Derek’s mom who is thankfully local and Donna Kim from The Perfect Details. The day started at Derek’s parent’s house where I was lucky enough to take advantage of their home’s gorgeous landscaping! Misty’s beautiful eyes twinkled thanks to my favorite makeup artist Rachael Berkowitz. After some quick photos of Misty, we were off to Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. The church was so simple and lovely. In another stroke of luck, there was a perfect little park with a foot bridge right around the corner. Ideal for romantic photos! Misty and Derek started their party at Charter Oak Country Club with a beautifully choreographed dance. While DJ extraordinaire Patrick Lally kept it going all night! The happy couple’s choice of a first dance “Lucky In Love” was so appropriate considering how perfectly everything fell together!

Kasandra & Don’s Cape Cod Wedding at Ocean Edge Resort

There are so many reasons I loved photographing Kasandra & Don’s wedding! Let’s start with the most important thing. They are so in love! You have to see the way Don looked at Kasandra throughout the evening. It was so endearing! Beyond that, they had a beautiful Greek ceremony at Saint George’s church in Centerville. I love Greek ceremonies. They are visually stunning and full of meaning (and they repeat everything three times so I get lots of chances to take the perfect photo!). Then, we all headed to the beach for wedding party photos. It was a gorgeous day for beach photos with a beautiful blue sky! Finally, we were off to the reception at Cape Cod’s Ocean Edge Resort where Kasandra included perfect little Cape Cod touches like sand dollar place cards and blue hydrangea centerpieces. It was lovely! Kasandra and Don, I hope you enjoy your wedding photos as much as I loved taking them!

Julia’s Girlie, Frilly, Fabulous Infant Shoot!

This shoot was so much fun! Even if you’re not a “girly girl” you have to admit Julia’s infant photos are fabulous! All those ruffles and bows!!!! I can’t stand it! We took these lovely images in the comfort of Julia’s own home with the aid of some perfect window light and simple blankets. For much of the shoot, Julia’s mom (draped in blanket) was the actual backdrop. It put the sleeping baby completely at ease. I hope you enjoy this girlie indulgence!

A Fun & Funky Family Portrait

OK, I may be a bit biased, but this may be the most beautiful boy I’ve ever photographed! This is my darling nephew Tate. I was lucky enough to sneak in a family portrait session with him during a family visit. It was a blast for many reasons! First, I had obviously already developed a relationship with my subjects. That always makes a family portrait session easier. But, Tate’s mom also has fun and funky taste (OK, his dad’s not so bad either). So we were able to play with some backdrops that were super cool! I’m so happy to introduce you to some of my family! Everyone, meet my nephew Tate, my sister-in-law Leigh Ann and my brother David.

Paula & Donna’s Intimate Wedding on Board the Marika

It’s always a special honor to be invited to photograph intimate celebrations. Donna and Paula hosted 14 guests on board the Marika to witness and celebrate their marriage. With the help of wedding planner Alexis Eliopoulos O’Mara, every detail was lovely. It was obvious the most important aspect of planning was including their three beautiful children at every step. My favorite part was the sand ceremony where each child was able to contribute their unique color to the mix. I also loved how Paula & Donna’s first dance as a married couple (played by the talented Bill and Bo Winiker) quickly turned into the entire family. It was so lovely to capture!

Veronika & Matt’s Wedding at Willowdale Estate

Veronika and Matt’s wedding marked the end of an epic long distance relationship. Their cross-continent love affair survived due much to a third person in their relationship…Skype. Skype represented a way for them to see each other, but also served as a reminder of the enormous distance between them. Skype played such a large roll in their lives, they had a custom cake top created of Veronika and Matt battling the Skype icon! The end of this long distance trial made their wedding celebration at Willowdale Estate even sweeter. You could physically see the relief and excitement in their eyes!
