Kiran and Ravee – Seaport Hotel, Boston

What a great way to start the wedding season!  Kiran and Ravee are a fantastic couple who opted to have a sweet wedding ceremony and reception that was much more intimate than their friends and family were used to.  It was a lovely winter day in Boston and the Seaport district was bright and chilly.  They were both total champs taking photos outside.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.   When I arrived, Kiran was just finishing dressing.  I was able to snap a few quick images of the final touches.  Kiran rocked the plunging neckline.  She was just stunning! Kiran and Ravee opted out of having a wedding party so it was nice and quiet as she got ready with some close friends. To avoid being out in the cold too long, Kiran and Ravee had a beautiful, private first look in their ceremony space. They were thrilled to see each other! Then we…very quickly…stepped outside for some gorgeous formal photos on the waterfront and in front of the Boston skyline. Kiran and Ravee enjoyed a lovely ceremony in a light filled room that was perfect for them.  Guests were asked to participate by responding […]

Tamara and Chris

I first fell in love with Tamara and Chris during our Engagement Session when we photographed around Boston and finished our day playing video games.  I was really looking forward to spending more time with them on their wedding day.  We started the day getting ready at my home away from home, Seaport Hotel in Boston.  Guests hoped on buses to a beautiful ceremony at Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Boston on Newbury Street.  After the ceremony, guests returned to the Seaport Lighthouse for a fabulous celebration.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.   Tamara started her day getting ready with family.  She, her mother, cousin and aunt filled the room with joy and anticipation.  Tamara wore a bracelet of her mother’s pinned to her bouquet to keep her close. Emmanuel Church was just gorgeous.  It was a small chapel which made the ceremony intimate.  But it had gorgeous, high ceilings which gave the ceremony elegance and grandeur. We used the iconic arches of the World Trade Center Boston and the city skyline as our backdrop for formal photos.  It doesn’t get better than that.  Tamara and Chris kept their wedding party small with a best man […]

Noah’s Bar Mitzvah – Needham, Massachusetts

Noah is a great kid! I had a blast with him on his Bar Mitzvah day.  We started the day at Temple Beth Shalom in Needham for some portraits and family photos.  Noah didn’t seem at all nervous for his big day ahead.  After the ceremony, friends and family headed to Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham for a celebration.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.   I was so impressed with how calm Noah was before the ceremony.  He was a great sport taking lots of photos inside the temple and on the grounds. Noah and his friends had a blast with an indoor basket ball hoop and playing games with Northern Lights Entertainment. I’m a sucker for a good limbo session! After Noah was introduced into the room, Northern Lights ran the show with dancing, a fantastic hora and more games for the kids.  My favorite game was the mummy wrap contest.  Kids were broken up in groups of three and given lots of toilet paper.  They picked one of them to wrap like a mummy and decorate.  It was a riot! René and Steve – Wayside Inn, Sudbury, Massachusetts

This was such a great wedding!  I just love René and Steve and was so excited to work with them.  They had a lovely wedding (with the help of wedding planner extraordinaire Christina Gillon) at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA.  It’s a special spot to the couple as Steve is originally from Sudbury.  René totally embraced that and their wedding took on a Historic New England theme.  The couple got ready in the two original rooms at the inn and had a beautiful first look in the garden.  All the formals were taken right on the gorgeous property (how could you not) and in the open field across the street.  As guests walked from the Wayside to the Martha Mary Chapel, René awaited her horse-drawn carriage.  The ceremony was fantastic.  The couple giggled all the way through!  As guests exited the ceremony, they were greeted by a fife and drum corps to escort them back to the inn.  It was a great day and I’m so happy to share some of my favorite images from the day. René was so calm and happy getting ready.  Check out that fabulous smile! René struggled with her “something blue” tradition.  She finally […]

A Week in the Life of a Boston Photographer

As a Boston photographer,  I am always honored to be able to capture special and memorable events. My job gives me the opportunity to have fun every single day of the week, I can travel to old and new places in the Boston area and meet amazing people. Here are some of the events my job has taken me on one week in April: A Truly talented jazz harpist at the Scullers Jazz Club:  I was hired to shoot the first headlining concert for jazz harpist, Charles Overton.  It was a fantastic show and musicians are always a blast to shoot.  I’ve always considered it a treat.  Ironically, I got this job from one of my contacts in the wedding world Felice Pomeranz, one of his teachers.   Porsche Norwell for the unveiling of the new 911: I was hired by event planner extraordinaire Carol McKean for a swanky little event planned to unveil the new Porsche dealership in Norwell and the new Porsche 911.  Guests walked down a red carpet, enjoyed a whiskey tasting and a fabulous raw bar and hors d’oeuvres while waiting for the unveiling.  And what a car!   Crazy funky Brian Thomas/ Alex Lee-Clark Big Band at the Ryles […]

Christina and Nick’s Charter Oak Country Club, Greek Wedding

Some of you may remember a beautiful January wedding in Boston that I shot for Irene and Ben.  Well, this summer I’ve had the honor to shoot her sister Christina’s wedding to Nick.  And I was so happy to be spending another happy day with the Krommydas family!  The Krommydas family weddings are so special because Christina’s dad is a Greek Orthodox priest.  In each wedding, Father Nick walked his daughters down the aisle and proceeded to officiate the ceremony.  I just melted every time father and daughter shared a knowing little glance!  It made each lovely tradition in the Greek Orthodox ceremony that much more meaningful.  Once again, shooting through tears.  Friends and family gathered at Charter Oak Country Club to celebrate the special day and it was like the two families had always been one big family.  They hugged, and laughed easily.  And they danced.  Man did they dance!  There is one more Krommydas sibling.  I will be sitting and waiting patiently by the phone… Don’t forget to check out the full slide show!

The Top Ten Ways to Enjoy Your Wedding Day

Between photographing and planning weddings, I’ve worked with hundreds of brides and grooms.  And while most of them have a blast on their wedding day, sadly some find themselves tired, uncomfortable and unhappy.  Some have made unfortunate choices while planning their big day and some are just too stressed and freaked out to enjoy the day.  After all the planning and money put into their wedding day, it breaks my heart when a client is not able to enjoy it!  I’d like to help future engaged couples of the world enjoy every minute of their wedding day.  So here are my top ten tips to do just that. Hire people you trust and enjoy – If you trust your wedding vendors you will not spend your day worrying if they are actually going to do what you’ve asked them to do.  If you enjoy your wedding vendors, you will be happy to see them when they arrive.  They will add to your happy day rather than being someone you have to put up with. Take care of yourself on the days leading up to your wedding day – I know when I’m tired I’m more likely to overreact to stress […]

Donna + Todd’s New Year’s Wedding

New Year’s weddings are almost always the most fun wedding of the year!  There is an added festive feeling in the air.  Guests arrive ready for a party!  This year was no different.  Donna and Todd are such a wonderful couple!  I’ve been looking forward to their wedding since they booked.  We had a fantastic engagement session where I heard all about their goal of achieving their black belt together right around the time of the wedding.  Yes, I had visions of one of them showing up with a black eye.  Well, there were no visual bruises, but you’ll notice that after the ceremony, Donna is not wearing her ring on her left hand….ahem.  All in all, a great evening with a fantastic group of people!
