Alexandra and Tim’s Romantic Estate Wedding

I just love how Alexandra and Tim created their wedding theme.  Everywhere you looked, there was a reminder of two things they love.  The two share a globe collection and Alexandra is an avid (to say the least) reader.  So naturally, their decor and centerpieces were all composed of globes and books.  And the best part is all of the books came from Alexandra’s own collection!  Apparently, it was just a small sample of her collection.  Girlfriend likes to read!  They also had one of my all time favorite place card ideas.  Each place card was on a library card and they were all filed away in a card catalog.  It tied into their theme perfectly!  The wedding day was a gorgeous fall day at the Harding Allen Estate.  The couple got ready right at the estate and had their ceremony in the outdoor garden.  There was no lack of gorgeous background for the formal photos all around the property.  And guests finished the celebration in the estate ballroom where Tim’s friends (including some band members of Tim’s) showed their rock and roll roots on the dance floor.  It was a great party!     Don’t forget to check out […]

Laurie and Josh’s Westin Copley Boston Wedding

When Laurie started planning her wedding, she wanted it smack dab in our beautiful city of Boston.  And she got her wish!  With the Westin Copley as our home, we are able to sneak over to the Public Garden and the Boston Public Library for photos.  It couldn’t have been a more lovely day for it.  Both Laurie and Josh got ready at the Westin, so I was able to pop into both rooms while they were preparing for the big day.  I loved watching Josh (to be more accurate, one of Josh’s groomsmen) tying a real bow tie.  After an intimate and lovely first look we were driven to the Public Garden for wedding party and bridal portraits.  Then, it was back to the hotel in time for their Ketubah signing.  The ceremony was held in the ballroom with the gorgeous city view as their backdrop.  The chuppah was adorned in beautiful muted pink and white flowers.  When guests returned to the ballroom after the cocktail hour, the room was totally transformed with the city view twinkling and pink up-lighting filling the ballroom.  What a transformation!  The only thing more brilliant and vibrant was Laurie’s smile.  I swear, that […]

Lisa and Dave’s Thompson Island Wedding

Lisa and Dave’s wedding was the type of day photographer’s dream about with a gorgeous setting and a totally low maintenance couple.  The wedding was set on Thompson’s Island, one of the Boston Harbor Islands.  I was able to take an earlier ferry to capture Lisa dressing and a great first look.  But not before totally pulling one over on Dave with a fake first look (substituting one of Lisa’s girlfriends).  The look on Dave’s face was priceless!  Guests took the next ferry over and had some time to relax on the island prior to the ceremony while Lisa and Dave signed their ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract.  The ceremony was held under the shade of two beautiful trees right on the beach.  During the cocktail hour, guests enjoy lawn games and the gorgeous setting sun over the Boston city skyline.  After some truly heartfelt toasts (the only real formalities of the evening) was a delicious lobster dinner and dancing in the island’s pavilion.  Toward the end of the evening a bonfire was lit, so smores were obviously in order! It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for an absolutely perfect couple.     Don’t forget to check out […]

Pam and Dan’s Cafe Escadrille Wedding

OK, this wedding was so fun!  Pam and Dan worked hard to make sure their wedding had a real home town feel.  When we first spoke, I remember her telling me how she wanted to keep everything about their wedding local and personal.  Pam got ready in her childhood home in Burlington and Dan at their home together in Billerica.  The ceremony was also held in a local church.  We took many of our family and wedding party portraits in the beautiful back yard of Pam’s parent’s home.  Pam and Dan both coach at Burlington High School and are proud of their school!  I’m so happy we got the chance to spend some time shooting bridal portraits at the school’s football field on that beautiful summer day.  Right down the road, their reception was held at Cafe Escadrille.  Both the best man and maid of honor had fun stories from childhood.  And Pam’s dad had a wonderful surprise during their father/daughter dance.  He actually recorded himself singing to his beloved daughter.  Pam’s reaction was fantastic!  Dan’s dad had his own surprise (at least a surprise to me).  He rocked that dance floor like a champion!  I’m pretty sure I have […]

Claudette and Jonathan’s Royal Sonesta Cambridge Wedding

Claudette and Jonathan enjoyed a gorgeous day in Cambridge for their wedding celebration.  And I just can’t get over Claudette’s smile all day!  We started at the Royal Sonesta getting ready.  No first look for this traditional couple.  Wedding details included Jonathan’s gorgeous watch that was a gift from Claudette and a very special photo charm tucked into Claudette’s bouquet to remember her father.  The striking MIT Chapel made a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony.  Then it was back to the Sonesta for special toasts and salsa dancing!  Their first dance kicked off the dancing starting with a lovely acoustic version of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream morphing quickly into a fabulous Latin rhythm!  It didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill! Don’t forget to check out their full slide show!   VENDORS Ceremony: MIT Chapel Reception: Royal Sonesta Cambridge Cake: Montilio’s Video: Black Tie Video DJ: Good Times Unlimited, Inc Hair & Makeup: Blushing Brides Flowers: Stapleton

Amanda and Michael’s Waterfront Boston Wedding

After threats of rain all week, Amanda and Michael’s wedding day was just gorgeous with a brilliant blue sky!  We spent the entire day at the Exchange Conference Center with gave us great photos on the pier and on the ocean.  The ceremony was held outside right on the water with a tented dinner to follow.  The tent was gorgeous complete with an organza draped ceiling and chandeliers.  The flowers by Jeri Solomon Floral Design gave the tent and airy garden feel.  After dinner, guests headed inside the Exchange Conference Center and danced the night away!  I’d have to say, the star of the show was absolutely Amanda’s daughter Leah.  Amanda and Michael did a wonderful job including her in the entire day.  She was the flower girl, received a beautiful locket from Michael during the ceremony, sat at the head table and was even a part of their special first dance.  It was so touching!   And don’t forget to take a peek at their full slide show! The Top Ten Ways to Enjoy Your Wedding Day

Between photographing and planning weddings, I’ve worked with hundreds of brides and grooms.  And while most of them have a blast on their wedding day, sadly some find themselves tired, uncomfortable and unhappy.  Some have made unfortunate choices while planning their big day and some are just too stressed and freaked out to enjoy the day.  After all the planning and money put into their wedding day, it breaks my heart when a client is not able to enjoy it!  I’d like to help future engaged couples of the world enjoy every minute of their wedding day.  So here are my top ten tips to do just that. Hire people you trust and enjoy – If you trust your wedding vendors you will not spend your day worrying if they are actually going to do what you’ve asked them to do.  If you enjoy your wedding vendors, you will be happy to see them when they arrive.  They will add to your happy day rather than being someone you have to put up with. Take care of yourself on the days leading up to your wedding day – I know when I’m tired I’m more likely to overreact to stress […]

Irene + Ben’s Classic Winter Wedding in Boston

Irene and Ben’s wedding had an elegant flair with beautiful old world charm.  Everything from Irene’s classic fitted lace gown to their choice of the historic Hampshire House for their celebration fit in line with that style.  Irene’s choice of beautiful winter white flowers from Winston Flowers matched a gorgeous white backdrop the snow storm that week which gave us.  Gorgeous…but very chilly.  I am so impressed with Irene and Bed for venturing out in the 18 degree weather with me for a few minutes that day!  I would be remiss if I did not mention the most touching part of the day.  The ceremony was truly special as Irene’s father is the pastor at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston.  I’ve always found Greek wedding ceremonies to be a joy to capture.  But watching Father Nick perform the ceremony for his baby girl was quite a treat!  I am honored to say I will be back with the Krommydas family in July when their second daughter Christina is married.  I’m bracing myself to have to once again shoot through tears.  Thank you for making me a part of these special memories.

Jessica + Eric’s Romantic Winter Wedding in Boston’s Seaport District

You know I just love it when I have the chance to work with several clients in a tight group of friends.  After the second or third wedding, I start to feel like one of the girls!  Jessica and Eric’s wedding was like that.  I had three former clients and one future client (and one current client of course!) in the same ballroom.  I had as much fun as the guests!  Jessica and Eric’s wedding was an elegant affair at the beautiful Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.  After seeing them at previous affairs and their engagement shoot, I felt like a good friend rather than a photographer.  They were even brave enough to spend some time with me outdoors in the cold but beautiful Boston Seaport District.  Thank you for a wonderful close to my 2014 wedding season Jessica and Eric!  It was perfect!

Rachel + Jared’s Elegant Cambridge Wedding

If I went around the ballroom and asked their wedding guests to describe Rachel and Jared in one word, I would get some interesting responses for sure!  But top on the list would be FUN.  Rachel and Jared’s wedding day was filled with laughter, humor, joy and most of all fun.  There was also a healthy dose of bling thrown in compliments of Rachel!  Check out her shoes and jewelry!  The ceremony and reception overlooked the beautiful Boston city skyline from the ballroom at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.  But the twinkling of the city lights was nothing compared to the twinkle in Rachel and Jared’s eyes!
