Lisa and Dave’s Thompson Island Wedding

Lisa and Dave’s wedding was the type of day photographer’s dream about with a gorgeous setting and a totally low maintenance couple. The wedding was set on Thompson’s Island, one of the Boston Harbor Islands. I was able to take an earlier ferry to capture Lisa dressing and a great first look. But not before totally pulling one over on Dave with a fake first look (substituting one of Lisa’s girlfriends). The look on Dave’s face was priceless! Guests took the next ferry over and had some time to relax on the island prior to the ceremony while Lisa and Dave signed their ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract. The ceremony was held under the shade of two beautiful trees right on the beach. During the cocktail hour, guests enjoy lawn games and the gorgeous setting sun over the Boston city skyline. After some truly heartfelt toasts (the only real formalities of the evening) was a delicious lobster dinner and dancing in the island’s pavilion. Jenna and Matt’s Oceanside Gloucester Wedding

Jenna and Matt wanted a beautiful wedding on the ocean in Gloucester and the Elks at Bass Rocks provided the perfect setting. It was a warm, hazy summer day and the muted pink and green tones of the bridesmaid’s dresses were a perfect match for the light blue and gray sky and ocean. It was stunning. Jenna and Matt were married on the lawn overlooking the ocean where they made a point of including some important family. Matt’s cousin wrote and performed a beautiful song as part of the ceremony. Jenna’s aunt officiated the ceremony where she explained why Jenna and Matt chose August 22 for their wedding date. It also happened to be Matt’s grandparent’s wedding date! Guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the couple and the very brave wedding party climbed out on the rocks of the Gloucester beach for some fabulous photos. Sooji and Joe’s Elegant Endicott Estate Wedding

I have a special fondness for Sooji and Joe. They’re sweet, talented and totally in love with each other. And they’re in the wedding business which makes them extra fun! Sooji and Joe are florists and met in school learning the craft. They now work together and created every piece you see on their wedding day! When I arrived at the Endicott Estate, Sooji and Joe were still putting the finishing touches on the room. It had to be tough putting all that work in on your own wedding day, but it was totally worth it. The centerpieces with white hydrangea and orchids were beautiful. The bouquets of calla lilies were simple and gorgeous and you have to check out the amazing ceremony pieces and place card table piece. They both ran upstairs with just enough time to prepare for the big day. Joe surprised Sooji with the most lovely bracelet. It was a gorgeous day for an outdoor ceremony by the gazebo on the Endicott Estate property. Shawna and Scott’s Lake Winnipesaukee Wedding

What a beautiful two days! I love when I have the chance to capture the rehearsal dinner with my clients. And with Shawna and Scott, it was an extra treat. We were able to do a full bridal session together the day before the wedding. Props to the happy couple for getting in their formal wear a day early so we could spend some time on Lake Winnipesaukee with some gorgeous late afternoon light! After our session, and a quick change, the couple had a fabulous New England themed dinner at the Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club. Watching Shawna and Scott’s many nieces and nephews and Scott’s beautiful daughter Hallie on the putting green was absolutely priceless! It was also a blast watching guests perform their own versions of “Row Row Row Your Boat” with words themed to the wedding. The following day, Shawna and Scott started at the Boston LDS Temple with a sealing ceremony and some photos outside the temple. Then it was back to New Hampshire for a ring exchange ceremony and a wonderful celebration right on Lake Winnipeasukee at Mills Falls Church Landing. Pam and Dan’s Cafe Escadrille Wedding

OK, this wedding was so fun! Pam and Dan worked hard to make sure their wedding had a real home town feel. When we first spoke, I remember her telling me how she wanted to keep everything about their wedding local and personal. Pam got ready in her childhood home in Burlington and Dan at their home together in Billerica. The ceremony was also held in a local church. We took many of our family and wedding party portraits in the beautiful back yard of Pam’s parent’s home. Pam and Dan both coach at Burlington High School and are proud of their school! I’m so happy we got the chance to spend some time shooting bridal portraits at the school’s football field on that beautiful summer day. Right down the road, their reception was held at Cafe Escadrille. Both the best man and maid of honor had fun stories from childhood. And Pam’s dad had a wonderful surprise during their father/daughter dance. He actually recorded himself singing to his beloved daughter. Pam’s reaction was fantastic! Isabelle and Andrew’s Royal Sonesta Boston, Summer Wedding

Isabelle and Andrew are such a fun couple! All you have to do is see Isabelle enjoying a sip of champagne (my kind of lady) or watch Andrew mugging it up for the camera to know I’m telling the truth. We had a great day at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. The weather was gorgeous. The beautiful summer day was the perfect backdrop for Isabelle’s vibrant color palate of pink and blue (or was that your idea Andrew?). After the ceremony, we spent time along the Charles River creating some fabulous portraits. And the vibrant colors continued in the ballroom with gorgeous pink centerpieces and bright pink up-lighting. The color in the intimate ballroom popped beautifully, but never felt overwhelming. Marisa and Seth’s Woodstock Inn, Garden Wedding

This is such a special post for me! I had the absolute honor to photograph the wedding of my best friend’s brother. It was like working with my own family (except slightly less large and crazy). Seth and Marisa are a fabulous couple. They have an incredibly active lifestyle (running, hiking, biking kayaking, and much more), so I don’t think I’ve ever seen them together when they weren’t sweaty and dirt smudged. You can imagine my glee when I saw this absolutely gorgeous couple on their wedding day! We spent the entire day at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont. The couple’s first look, formal photos and ceremony were held in the gardens and grounds around the inn. I thought it was so sweet when the couple watered a tree to be planted at their home as part of the ceremony. The ceremony was followed by a group photo of the entire wedding. Christina and Nick’s Charter Oak Country Club, Greek Wedding

Some of you may remember a beautiful January wedding in Boston that I shot for Irene and Ben. Well, this summer I’ve had the honor to shoot her sister Christina’s wedding to Nick. And I was so happy to be spending another happy day with the Krommydas family! The Krommydas family weddings are so special because Christina’s dad is a Greek Orthodox priest. In each wedding, Father Nick walked his daughters down the aisle and proceeded to officiate the ceremony. I just melted every time father and daughter shared a knowing little glance! It made each lovely tradition in the Greek Orthodox ceremony that much more meaningful. Once again, shooting through tears. Friends and family gathered at Charter Oak Country Club to celebrate the special day and it was like the two families had always been one big family. They hugged, and laughed easily. And they danced. Lauren and Kevin’s Hyatt Harborside Summer Wedding

If I had to use one word to describe Lauren and Kevin’s wedding day, it would be Party! These two, their friends and family know exactly how to party like rock stars. It must be something in the water at Fairfield University where the two attended together. The dancing began in the suite at the Hyatt Harborside getting ready and didn’t stop all night. Judging from their fabulous Party Animal place cards, they knew exactly what to expect. In all that fun, their was also total beauty. Lauren and Kevin are a gorgeous couple and their elegant choice of pinks, creams and other pastel colors was beautiful in the ocean front tent at the Hyatt. It was a total blast to capture. Leah and Brad’s Seaport Boston Summer Wedding

It was a lovely summer day on Boston’s waterfront for Leah and Brad’s wedding. The entire experience from getting ready to dancing the night away was at Seaport Boston. Their ceremony was held in the airy and bright Winter Garden followed by a excellent celebration in Seaport’s Lighthouse. Leah kept the decor elegant in neutral and white tones to allow the beautiful setting and view of the Lighthouse to shine. And it felt like almost as much of a party for me as it did for them! I was able to work with some of my very favorite people. As you may know, I was a wedding planner for years at Seaport so it was like walking into my second home. And Leah and Brad (wanting a fantastic dance party) were totally brilliant to hire Kahootz…my very favorite band and clearly the best band in Boston (no, I’m not biased).
